Mirrorscape Joins the ORC Alliance!

Mirrorscape, the maker of ARcana, has joined with 1500 other publishers large and small as part of the Open RPG Creative license (ORC). The ORC is a universal, system-neutral and open license that provides a legal “safe harbor” for sharing rules mechanics and encourages innovation and collaboration in the tabletop gaming space.

ARcana is built to be a place of endless creativity and boundless play, where you can build the adventure of your dreams. We aim to create a platform where you bring your imagination to your favorite rules and settings or add your own without fear or threat that your play is restricted.

What this means for you:

• We will embrace the best practices and creative opportunities of the original Open Game License that has served as a common resource in the tabletop publishing industry for more than two decades.
• We will seek partnerships with the many publishers in the #ttrpg space who are also members of the ORC and seek to make sure you have all the right settings, terrain, minis and monsters ready to play in their campaigns.
• As we roll out creativity tools and ticketing platforms you will be able to publish your own games and SRD, host professional games, and sell the products of your imagination.

What's Next?

Mirrorscape will join in the development of the Open RPG Creative license based on the foundational values of free and fair play. We will participate in an iterative draft and commentary process to craft a license that is permanent, perpetual, and irrevocable and explicitly protects your play on our augmented reality tabletop (ARTT).
