Built on Snapdragon Spaces, ARcana brings augmented reality tech to tabletop gaming
Los Angeles, CA - March 28th, 2023: Augmented Reality (AR) game development company Mirrorscape today announced that it will collaborate with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., to enable Mirrorscape’s ARcana gaming platform on AR glasses.
The ARcana platform, which supports tabletop roleplaying games across genres like fantasy, adventure, sci-fi, horror and war-gaming, is a first-of-its-kind virtual tabletop that integrates mixed reality technology into traditional gameplay. Mirrorscape has based the development of ARcana on Snapdragon Spaces™ XR Developer Platform, which enables AR glasses with advanced perception technology like spatial meshing to detect tabletop surfaces and hand tracking technology that lets players move game pieces as they would in real life.

As a member of Snapdragon Spaces Pathfinder Program, Mirrorscape, alongside Qualcomm Technologies are pushing the limits of spatial computing and mixed reality hardware. Companies using Snapdragon Spaces have been able to activate dynamic applications of XR technology in various industries, including gaming, entertainment, productivity and engineering.

The ARcana platform is currently in beta release, and will be available on iOS, Android and various XR operating systems, especially those utilizing Snapdragon Spaces in the spring of 2023. Mirrorscape will demonstrate ARcana at multiple industry conferences throughout the season.
